Saints have emerged as a possible destination for Wayne Bennett, the former Australia coach who is standing down at Brisbane Broncos at the end of 2008 after 21 seasons with the NRL club.
“My intention is to continue to coach, either in the northern or southern hemisphere,” Bennett said.
The only engage Super League vacancy on the horizon is at St Helens, where Daniel Anderson is in his last season.
“It's very early days,” Tony Colquitt, the club's chief executive, said. “As for Wayne, we haven't had any discussions with him or plans to contact him.”
