A man who died in an accident involving three cars on the M58 in west Lancashire has been named.
David Smith, 60, from St Helens, Merseyside, was involved in the crash near junction one of the motorway, near Bickerstaff, on Thursday night.
Two people suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital but Mr Smith was fatally injured.
He leaves behind his wife of 15 years, three daughters and one five-year-old granddaughter.
His wife, Dora Martlew-Smith said: "I am totally devastated, I have not only lost my husband but my best friend as well."
Mr Smith was driving a Ford Fiesta, which collided with a Fiat Punto and a Vauxhall Corsa at about 2030 GMT.
